I have a fairly diverse background which has given me many
skills that could help you with your support needs. Here is
an overview of my background:
I began my career working with computers in 1987,
inputting information into a mainframe for a large hospital in
southern California. I enjoyed it but wanted to know more about
computers and technology! I moved back to my roots in Indiana
in 1989 where I began working with Indiana University, first on
their mainframe and eventually as a secretary. In 1991, the office
that I worked in installed PCs for the first time. I was immediately
fascinated with them and continued to soak up any information
about them I could.
While still at the University, I decided to utilize
my publishing skills to open my own Desktop Publishing business.
My company created personalized wall calendars, brochures, business
cards, and more. When I realized that I wanted to expand my technical
knowledge, I began looking for and found a management position
with a computer learning center. The job entailed organizing instructors,
class schedules, designing classes, teaching, marketing, and more,
but most importantly it gave me access to the technical knowledge
I craved. This knowledge, and the skills acquired through managing
my own company, allowed me to seek and acquire the position of
Systems Support for the University. I provided Tech Support for
85 people and 250 computers for a mission critical department.
Later I would take all of these skills and become a Web Site Designer
for a national ad agency.
While contining to hone and focus my skills and
services, I elected to add medical transcription. I completed
my training from Gatlin Education Services through my local Ivy
Tech, and received my certificate in medical transcription. This
training included an extensive course in medical terminolgy.
My diverse background gives me a unique and varied
skill set. Let me use those skills to help you with your busy
schedule!
